Maui Invitations: Charcoal Gray & teal blue

I’ve been dreaming about the islands lately so this is a perfect time to show you Eileen and Jerel’s save the dates and wedding invitations.  They are getting “Maui’d” this week and I couldn’t be anymore excited!  When I first met them, they did our maternity session before we gave birth to our sweet, baby girl. Since then, they have captured many memories of my family and have become our dear friends. Eileen and Jerel, we are so happy to have met you and so happy for you both! We wish you all the joy two people can share and a lifetime of love! Enjoy your wedding day, your time together on the islands and ALOHA nui loa!

Being awesome photographers, it was fitting to have a photo of them on their save the dates. A silhouette picture of them was on the front and opened up to a calendar with their date marked. It also had a magnet on the back for guests to keep handy.

Their invitation suite was a charcoal gatefold card with silver accents and teal blue. It held the RSVP card along with another invitation to a wedding reception locally for when they return back from the islands. 2 parties for 1 lucky couple… I’ll take that!

Real Wedding: Megan & Ian at Hotel Del Coronado

Megan & Ian are married! They had a gorgeous wedding on the sand in front of the famous, Hotel Del Coronado. Totally fitting for them because they wanted to take it back where Ian proposed to Megan, beachside. Being from the east coast, majority of  their guests flew in to witness the celebration.  The weather was beautiful that weekend so their guests traveled at a perfect time to celebrate with them! Congratulations Megan and Ian on your special day! You both were so amazing to work with.  I thank you so much and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

And of course a special thanks to the amazing husband and wife duo, Valley and Co. who designed and coordinated the day and to Shannon Lee Images for the beautiful photography.  For more photos, check out her blog.

Cape Cod inspired wedding: Blue, yellow & twine

When I met with Megan and Ian, they wanted a nautical, Cape Cod feel for their invitations. They both had their input of what they liked and didn’t, so we worked together to come up with a design. They requested to incorporate a knot so I designed one with their initials.  The invitation suite was wrapped in twine rope with a tag on the outside and the envelope was lined with an old vintage map. They included a “things to do in San Diego” for their out of town guests and a keepsake postcard. It came out so great, this is by far one of my favorites!

For a personal touch, Megan and Ian included a postcard of their wedding venue, The Hotel Del Coronado, for guests to have as a keepsake. I incorporated their wedding logo on the backside with the date. I also designed custom stamps for their RSVP postcards and the outside of the invitation envelope.

Their thank you cards to their guests were postcards with the same rope and anchor, which was on their invitation, and their logo on the backside.

They wanted their escort cards to resemble a vintage ferry ticket. I put their guests “origin city”, where they came from and “Port of”, the table name where they were to be seated on each card along with the date of their wedding punched on the side. They will be put in vintage suitcases outside their reception area.

Up next are images from their big day. Stay tuned and check them out!

Black and white stripes with pops of yellow

Black and white is so versatile. I find the color combination so elegant and that’s exactly what Patricia and Fred were looking for in their wedding invitations.  They chose a booklet style in white pearl and had a black satin ribbon tied along the front.  Because they wanted a punch of color, they chose a vibrant yellow to be their accent color.

For their save the dates, they wanted a magnet that displayed their date on a calendar. So I designed for them a mini eight month calendar which had months you can tear off leading to their day.  A heart covered their date reminding guests of their special day!

Because their wedding is in the middle of summer and outside in the garden, a paddle fan was appropriate for each guest tied with a black satin ribbon.

Congratulations Patricia and Fred! You both were awesome to work with and I hope you enjoyed your wedding day and your honeymoon in paradise!
